Workshop on AI-based Assessment Methods Successfully Conducted on 22nd May 2026

The Quality Assurance Cell (QAC) of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully organized a workshop on “AI-based Assessment Methods” on 22nd May 2026 at the Faculty Board Room, Sri Wimaladhamma Mansion (5th Floor) for the academic staff of the faculty.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Ashan Lakshitha Wijesuriya (CEO, Softmint Software Solutions (Pvt) Ltd) and Mr. Avishka Bandara (CEO, Founder, HashX (Pvt) Ltd) who shared valuable insights into the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern assessment practices in higher education.
The session provided participants with practical knowledge on AI-assisted assessment techniques, innovative digital tools and effective approaches to enhancing teaching and evaluation methods. Participants highly appreciated the informative and interactive nature of the workshop.
The successful completion of the workshop reflected the Faculty’s continued commitment to promoting innovative teaching practices and strengthening quality assurance in higher education.
