A workshop on “AI in Education: for teaching and learning” successfully held

A workshop on “AI in Education: for teaching and learning” was held on 6^th March 2025 at the Bandaranayake hall of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, bringing together the educators, tech enthusiasts and students to explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence in the teaching and learning process. Organized by Ven (Prof.) Witharandeniye Chandasiri, the coordinator of the Sankathana sub-committee of the Publication Committee of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura under the directives of the Dean, Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda, the event featured Prof. Hiran Amarasekera who delivered a thought-provoking speech on AI-driven tools, personalized learning and future of AI in education. The talk was translated into English by Dr. Madhubhashini Dissanayake Rathnayake of the Department of English Language Teaching for better understanding of the participants who represented different ethnicities.
