Medical Camp Organized by USJ Alumni Association in Collaboration with Lions International District 306A-1
A medical camp was organized for the second time for first-year students enrolled in 2026 at the faculty of Humanities and social Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The programme was held on 11 March 2026 from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the Auditorium of the Wimaladharma Building of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The event was jointly organized by the University of Sri Jayewardenepura Alumni Association and Lions Clubs International District 306A-1 under the guidance of Senior Professor Shirantha Heenkenda, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
During the camp, students were able to receive several healthcare services including general medical consultations, basic health screenings, advice on preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyles and guidance on managing common medical conditions.
A team of volunteer doctors, healthcare professionals and university volunteers contributed their time and expertise to ensure the success of the programme. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about early disease detection and encourage students to maintain healthy lifestyles during their university life.
