Workshop on ‘From Compliance to Excellence: Embedding a Culture of Academic Quality in Universities’ Successfully Conducted

The Quality Assurance Cell of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura successfully conducted a workshop titled ‘From Compliance to Excellence: Embedding a Culture of Academic Quality in Universities’ on 05 March 2026 at the Sri Sumangala Auditorium. The workshop was conducted by Senior Professor Shirantha Heenkenda, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. The program focused on strengthening academic quality practices within universities and fostering a culture that moves beyond compliance towards excellence in higher education. The session was attended by academic staff members and Quality Assurance Cell members of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. The discussion highlighted the importance of maintaining academic standards, strengthening quality assurance mechanisms and promoting continuous improvement in university education. The workshop concluded successfully with active participation from the attendees.
