Conference on Country and Area Studies for International Understanding 2025

5th Council Meeting of the Global Alliance of Foreign Studies Universities (GAFSU)  

The 5th Council Meeting of the Global Alliance of Foreign Studies Universities (GAFSU) was convened under the theme “Future Solutions – AI Empowerment – Integrated Development.” The University of Sri Jayewardenepura proudly participated in this significant gathering, which was hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University and organized by Zhejiang International Studies University.

This year’s meeting provided a dynamic platform for member institutions to explore innovative directions in higher education, particularly focusing on the transformative role of artificial intelligence in driving integrated academic and institutional development. Notably, two new member universities were welcomed into the GAFSU community during this meeting, further strengthening the alliance’s global reach and collaborative capacity.

High-quality Development Conference for the 70th Anniversary Celebration of Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU)

From October 23 to 25, 2025, Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU) celebrated its 70th Anniversary, marking seven decades of academic excellence and international engagement. The grand commemoration was held under the inspiring theme “70 Years’ Glory and a Brighter Future”, with a series of academic forums, cultural performances, and alumni gatherings that reflected the university’s enduring commitment to global education and cross-cultural understanding.

Representing the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the Vice Chancellor and the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences participated in this distinguished event, joining leaders, scholars, and alumni from around the world in celebrating ZISU’s legacy. During this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between Zhejiang International Studies University and the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, marking a new chapter of academic cooperation and mutual development between the two institutions.
