The Department of English Language Teaching (DELT), University of Sri Jayewardenepura Launches 10th Intake of Diploma in English Programme

The Department of English Language Teaching at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura launched the 10th Intake of its Diploma in English and the 16th Intake of the Certificate in English weekend courses on the 1st of March 2025 at the Sri Sumangala Auditorium of the university. This initiative, in response to the growing demand for quality English language education, opened doors for more prospective students to their English courses. One of the highlights of the ceremony was the speeches deliverd by former students from previous intakes who voluntarily joined the ceremony to share their honest opinions and experiences about the courses, highlighting the value and credibility of the courses.

The Diploma in English course is recognised under the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) Level 3 and the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 5, and the Certificate in English course, on the other hand, is acknowledged at SLQF Level 1 and NVQ Level 3. These courses are tailored for individuals seeking a vocationally and academically recognised professional qualification in English or those wishing to enhance their language skills.
