Two USJ Students in French Awarded Full Scholarships for French Studies in France

Thasheela Wijensundara and Aminda Wickramarathne, two students currently following French at the Department of Languages, Cultural Studies and Performing Arts, have received full scholarships for language stays at the University Centre for French Studies in Grenoble, France, courtesy of the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Their academic plans were discussed with the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor Shirantha Heenkenda, attended by Professor Nilanthi Rajapakshe Head of the Department, and French lecturer Ms. Charitha Liyanage. The scholarship recipients expressed gratitude for this valuable academic opportunity to explore French Language and Culture. Special thanks are offered to the Senior lecturer in French Irosha Chandrasekera, Olivia Bellemère, Cultural Counsellor and Thomas Bellil Attaché for Education of the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and Maldives for the extended support.
