The Sri Lankan ‘President’s Awards for Scientific Research’ is an event organized by the National Research Council of Sri Lanka to evaluate and recognize the strongest scientific research conducted in the country. The published scientific works selected for reviewing are source normalized based on weighted citations from internationally accepted journal ranking systems, avoiding bias towards any scientific discipline. Accordingly, the level of contribution of Sri Lankan research scientists in any scientific discipline is assessed and awarded for their research and innovation relating to science and technology.

The Department of History and Archaeology is proud to mention that this is Dr. Wedage’s 5th consecutive time receiving the President’s Award for his research work. The staff and the students of the Department of History and Archaeology congratulate Sen. Lect. (Dr.) Oshan Wedage for his significant career achievement!
