DELT Speech Star 2023 is an oratorical competition organized by the Department of English Language Teaching (DELT) aiming at developing public speaking skills (English) of the first-year students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS). This competition has three rounds: round one is open for all the students in the first-year batch in which three speakers are selected from each class. This time 54 students (18X3=54) were qualified for the round 2 of the competition. All these students were then trained by a speech specialist and for the final round, 9 students have been selected and this year’s “DELT Speech Star” will be selected out of these students on 5th Oct 2023. In addition to this the students of the Department of English and Linguistics will compete in a different wing of the competition.
