Undergraduates of the Buddhist Heritage and Tourism Degree Program of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies organized an Industry Interaction Program with Royal Travelers (Pvt) Ltd. This program was conducted under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Shirantha Heenkenda,the Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Ven. Professor Elamaldeniye Sarananda; and the coordinator of the Buddhist Heritage and Tourism degree program, Professor Dunesh Gunathilaka, at Sri Sumangala Auditorium on the 10th of August 2022. The main objective of the program was to improve the language proficiency of undergraduates who are studying the Russian language. The Russian representatives of Royal Travelers (PVT) Ltd., Chief Advisor Mr. Glamove Victor, Finance Director Zhanna Karaseva, and the Chief Coordinator of Sri Lanka (Managing Director) Mr. Jestus Sibera were there as chief guests of the event. There was a discussion about job opportunities for Buddhist Heritage and Tourism undergraduates and the contribution of Russian, Chinese, and French languages to the tourism industry in Sri Lanka. The Russian representative of Royal Travelers (PVT) Ltd was particularly impressed by the undergraduate’s language provision scales and hospitality management. This program helps undergraduates get job opportunities and make connections with the Russian market.
