A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the two parties; Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the HCL Technologies Lanka (Private) Limited on the 25 th March 2022 with a view to enhancing graduate employability of the FHSS.
It has been a prime focus of the FHSS to initiate programs that involve productive industry collaborations so that the subsequent opportunities would be beneficial for the FHSS graduates in their employment prospects. A range of objectives are included in the MOU such as, internships/ training, knowledge sharing, talent acquisition of graduates to name a few. Through this MOU, a mechanism has been established to benefit from the student profiles created by the students to better identify their strengths and competencies.
Senior Professor Sudantha Liyanage; the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura signed the MOU on behalf of the university, while HCL Technologies was represented by its Center/ Resident Director Mr. Thothathri Vaikuntam. The witnesses who signed the MOU from the FHSS were the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor Shirantha Heenkenda, and the Senior Lecturer Dr. K.B.G.S.K. Gamlath. The Group Manager of HCL Technologies, Mr. Omar Hassan, and Manager Ms. Nadira Cassim signed as the witnesses from the HCL Technologies.
