The Department of Languages, Cultural Studies and Performing Arts organized “Ghungroo ceremony” for the students who learn Kathak dance for their dance honors degree on 31st of December 2019 at Sri Sumangala Reading Hall of the university.
This is one of the special ceremonies held for the Kathak students and after which they receive their first pair of Ghungroos (little brass bells) from their teacher as a graduate of this particular type of dance stream.
Several dance items were performed after receiving “Ghugroos” by the students of second year and third year. Final year students who have already completed this ritual last year also participated with a performance.
