Many important attributes in the social, behavioral, and health sciences cannot be observed directly. Examples of such attributes include happiness, depression, anxiety, cognitive and social competence, etc. They are typically measured by multiple indicators that are often subject to measurement errors. Structural equation modeling (SEM) has become a major tool for examining and understanding relationships among latent attributes.
Department of Social Statistics is conducting a workshop on SEM using SmartPLS targeting mainly the fourth-year students of the department. The resource person of the workshop is Mr. Nuwan Maduwansha, Senior Lecturer from the Department of Social Statistics. The workshop will be conducted online through Zoom Meetings on 15/06/2023 from 8 a.m. onwards.
