Mr. Upali Karunathilake generously donates several objects from his valuable collection to the Archaeology Museum of the Department of History and Archaeology

The Archaeology Museum of the Department of History and Archaeology of the USJ would like to thank and appreciate Mr. Upali Anandakumara Karunathilake from Boralesgamuwa, for his thoughtful and generous donation of several objects made to the Archaeology Museum of the USJ, from his valuable self-collection for decades.

The donation especially included a valuable painting he bought from the Louvre Museum in France. Mr. Karunathilake expects that the donated objects will be securely preserved, exhibited, and be used for research purposes of the academia.

The Head of the Department, Sen. Lect. (Ven.) Dambara Amila Thero, the Curator of the Museum, Mrs. Nilmini Neththasinghe and Ms. Ishini Jayathilaka, the 3rd year undergraduate who made contact with the donor, participated in this object donation occasion, on 28th November 2023.
