An Undergraduate sets an example on how to practice the application of theoretical knowledge taught at their degree programs in real-world opportunities

The members of the Meditation Society of Nandaka Vihara in Penang, Malasiya, have made a visit to the ancient Buddhist monuments in Sri Lanka in the second week of January 2024. At the end of their journey, the foreign group visited the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura on 14th of January 2024, at the invitation of Ms. Ishini Thamodya Jayathilaka, a final-year student following the BA (Hons) Degree in Archaeology.

Accordingly, Ms. Jayathilaka has made a presentation on ‘Archaeological Heritage in Sri Lanka and the Discipline of Archaeology’ to the foreign group, and the group has appreciated her for the arrangements made for them to visit the university and for the knowledge sharing session. Ms. Jayathilaka has set an example on how the undergraduates, in their capacities, can practice the application of theoretical knowledge taught at their degree programs in real-world opportunities.
