The University orientation program is to help new undergraduates understand the nature of the University, the educational opportunities available to them, the values and functions of the University community, and the central objective of the University as an academic enterprise.

The orientation ’24 for the 2022/2023 academic year will be held as online and onsite event.

විශ්ව විද්‍යාල නම්නීකරණ වැඩසටහන යනු නව උපාධි අපේක්ෂකයින්ට විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ස්වභාවය, ඔවුන්ට ලබා ගත හැකි අධ්‍යාපන අවස්ථා, විශ්ව විද්‍යාල ප්‍රජාවේ සාරධර්ම හා කාර්යයන් සහ අධ්‍යයන ව්‍යවසායක් ලෙස විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ කේන්ද්‍රීය අරමුණ අවබෝධ කර ගැනීමට උපකාර කිරීමයි.

2022/2023 අධ්‍යයන වර්ෂය සඳහා 2024 නම්නීකරණ වැඩසටහන මාර්ගගත (Online) සහ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලීය පරිශ්‍රයේ (On-site) ආකාරයට පැවැත්වේ.

මානව ශාස්ත්‍ර හා සමාජ විද්‍යා පීඨයේ සිසුන් ලියාපදිංචි කිරීමේ ක්‍රියාවලීන් දෙකක් හරහා කරනු ඇත.

1. විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයට සිසුන් ඇතුළත් කර ගැනීම
2. විෂය ලියාපදිංචි කිරීම

ශිෂ්‍ය ලියාපදිංචිය සහ ක්‍රියාවලිය ආරම්භ කිරීමට පෙර සූදානම් විය යුතු ආකාරය ගැන කතා කරමු.

විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයට සිසුන් ඇතුළත් කර ගැනීම ඔබේ විශ්ව විද්‍යාල ප්‍රතිපාදන කොමිෂන් සභාවේ ලියාපදිංචියට සමාන ක්‍රියාවලියක් වන නමුත් මෙය හසුරුවනු ලබන්නේ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය විසිනි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, ඔබ මාර්ගගත ලියාපදිංචි කිරීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය භාවිතා කර ලියාපදිංචි වීමට පෙර, ඔබ දේවල් කිහිපයක් සූදානම් කරගෙන සිටිය යුතුය.

1. ඔබගේ උඩුකය ඡායාරූපයක් (JPG format)
2. ඔබගේ උප්පැන්න සහතිකයේ සහ ජාතික හැඳුනුම්පතහි ස්කෑන් කල Copies
3. නවක වදය පිළිබඳ පෝරමය

අපි එක් එක් ගැන වෙන වෙනම කතා කරමු.

ඔබගේ උඩුකය ඡායාරූපයක් (JPG ආකෘතියෙන්)

සුදු පැහැති පසුබිමක ගන්නා ලද ඔබේ උඩුකය ඡායාරූපයක් (මි.මී. 45 උස සහ පළල 35 මි.මී.). මෙම ඡායාරූපයක් මාස 6 ට වඩා පැරණි නොවිය යුතුය.
මෙම ඡායාරූපයක් මෘදු පිටපතක් ලෙස උඩුගත කළ යුතුය. එබැවින් කරුණාකර එය JPG ආකෘතියෙන් තබා ගන්න.

ඔබගේ උප්පැන්න සහතිකයේ සහ ජාතික හැඳුනුම්පතහි ස්කෑන් කල Copies

ඔබගේ උප්පැන්න සහතිකයේ සහ ජාතික හැඳුනුම්පතහි වර්ණ පිටපත් ලබා ගෙන එය සාම විනිසුරුවරයෙකු විසින් තහවුරු කර ගන්න. එය තහවුරු කළ පසු, පැහැදිලි වර්ණ ස්කෑන් එකක් ලබා ගෙන එය PDF ලේඛනයක් ලෙස ගබඩා කරගන්න.

නවක වදය පිළිබඳ පෝරමය

විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය විසින් එවන ලද ඔබගේ විද්‍යුත් පනිවිඩයෙන් (Email) ඔබට මෙය සොයාගත හැකිය. මෙහි වර්ණ මුද්‍රණයක් ලබාගෙන එය පුරවා අත්සන් කරන්න. එහිද පැහැදිලි වර්ණ ස්කෑන් එකක් ලබා ගෙන එය PDF ලේඛනයක් ලෙස ගබඩා කරගන්න.
ඔබ මෙම ලේඛන සියල්ලම සකස් කළ පසු, ඔබට http://www.sjp.ac.lk හි ශිෂ්‍ය ලියාපදිංචිය ආරම්භ කළ හැකිය.

 

Students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences will go through two registration processes.

1. Student Enrolment to the University
2. Subject Registration

Here, let’s talk about Student registration and how to be prepared before starting the process.

Student Enrolment to the University is a similar process to your UGC registration but will be handled by the university. 

However, before you register yourself using the online registration process, you need to prepare few things.

1. An upper body portrait photo of yourself (In JPG format)
2. PDF copies of your Birth Certificate, NIC
3. Form about the raging

Let’s talk about each separately.

An upper body portrait photo of yourself (In JPG format)

Your upper body portrait standard color image in white background (45mm height × 35mm width). Should not be older than 6 months. 

This format should be upload as a softcopy. So please keep it in a JPG format.

PDF copies of your Birth Certificate, NIC

Get colored copies of your birth certificate, NIC, and get it verified by a Justice of the Peace (JP). Once it is verified, get a clear color scan and store it as a PDF document.

Form about the raging

You can find this in your email sent by the university. Get a colored printout of this, fill it, sign it, get a color scan and save it as a PDF file. 

Once you prepare all these documents, you can proceed to complete the Student Registration on http://www.sjp.ac.lk

 

මානව ශාස්ත්‍ර හා සමාජ විද්‍යා පීඨයේ සිසුන් ලියාපදිංචි කිරීමේ ක්‍රියාවලීන් දෙකක් හරහා කරනු ඇත.

1. විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයට සිසුන් ඇතුළත් කර ගැනීම
2. විෂය ලියාපදිංචි කිරීම

සිසුන් ඇතුළත් කර ගැනීම

පළමුව, විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ඉගෙනුම ලබන සෑම සිසුවෙකුම විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ලියාපදිංචි විය යුතුය. මෙම ලියාපදිංචි කිරීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය “ශිෂ්‍ය බඳවා ගැනීම” ලෙස හැඳින්වේ. මෙය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය විසින් මෙහෙයවනු ලැබේ.

විෂය ලියාපදිංචි කිරීම

සිසුන් විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයට ලියාපදිංචි වී පීඨයට ඇතුළත් වූ පසු ඔවුන් අනුගමනය කරන විෂයයන් තෝරා ගත යුතුය. නමුත් ඔබ මෙම විෂයන් ඔබ තෝරාගත් පසු, ඔබේ විෂය තේරීම ලියාපදිංචි කළ යුතුය. මෙය “විෂය ලියාපදිංචි කිරීම” ලෙස හැඳින්වේ.

Student Enrolment 

First, each and every student who studies in the University has to be registered in the university. This registration process is called “Student Enrolment”. This will be handled by the university.

Subject registration

Once students get registered to the university and enrolled in the Faculty, they have to select which subjects they will follow. But once you select, you have to register your subject selection. This is called “Subject Registration”. 

 

Faculty/ පීඨය

A faculty is a division within a university comprising one subject area or a group of related subject areas. University consists of several faculties and our University of Sri Jayewardenepura has 8 faculties and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is one of them. A faculty will be managed by the Dean of the Faculty.  The current Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda.

පීඨයක් යනු එක් විෂය ක්ෂේත්‍රයක් හෝ ඊට අදාළ විෂය ක්ෂේත්‍රයන්ගෙන් සමන්විත විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයක අංශයකි. විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයක් පීඨ කිහිපයකින් සමන්විත වන අතර අපගේ ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ පීඨ 8 ක් ඇති අතර මානව ශාස්ත්‍ර හා සමාජීය විද්‍යා පීඨය ඉන් එකකි. පීඨයක් පීඨාධිපති විසින් කළමනාකරණය කරනු ලැබේ. මානව ශාස්ත්‍ර හා සමාජ විද්‍යා පීඨයේ වත්මන් පීඨාධිපති වශයෙන් මහාචාර්ය ශිරාන්ත හීන්කෙන්ද මහතා කටයුතු කරයි.

Department/ අධ්‍යනාංශය

Each Faculty has several departments that will teach specific disciplines. As an example, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has an Information and Communication Technology  Department which will conduct ICT degree program(s).

Currently, the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has 16 active departments and each of these will run by the relevant Department Heads.

සෑම පීඨයක් සදහාම විශේෂිත විෂයයන් උගන්වන අධ්‍යනාංශ කිහිපයක් ඇත. උදාහරණයක් ලෙස මානව ශාස්ත්‍ර හා සමාජ විද්‍යා පීඨය යටතේ තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්‍ෂණ අධ්‍යනාංශයක් ඇති අතර එමඟින් තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ උපාධි පාඨමාලා පවත්වනු ලැබේ.

වර්තමානයේ මානව ශාස්ත්‍ර හා සමාජ විද්‍යා පීඨය යටතේ ක්‍රියාකාරී අධ්‍යනාංශ 16 ක් ඇති අතර ඒ සෑම අධ්‍යනාංශයක්ම අදාළ අධ්‍යනාංශ ප්‍රධානීන් විසින් මෙහෙයවනු ලැබේ.

පළමු වසර සිසුන් තමන් කැමති පාඨමාලා ඒකක තෝරා ගන්නා විට, පාඨමාලා ඒකක අතර ඇතිවන ගැටලු (Time Clashes) වළක්වා ගැනීම සඳහා ප්‍රථමයෙන් පළමු වසරේ කාලසටහන සලකා බැලිය යුතුය. එයට අනුව, ඔබගේ පාඨමාලා ඒකක තෝරාගැනීමට කටයුතු කරන්න.

නම්නීකරණ ’24 වැඩසටහන මගින් පාඨමාලා ඒකක ගැන ඔබට වැඩිදුර දැනගත හැකිය.

When first-year students select their prefered course units, they have to consider the first-year timetable first in order to avoid course unit time clashes.

LMS (Learning Management System) is an online platform that will be used to share course materials, contents of courses, conduct examinations of courses that are conducted by the departments of the faculty.

The Digital Learning Space of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is the LMS platform of our Faculty. Every new student (2022/2023 academic year) of the Faculty will receive their LMS username and password after 22nd of January 2024.

LMS (ඉගෙනුම් කළමනාකරණ පද්ධතිය) යනු මාර්ගගත පද්ධතියක් වන අතර එමගින් පාඨමාල ද්‍රව්‍ය, පාඨමාලා වල අන්තර්ගතය සහ පීඨයේ අධ්‍යනාංශ විසින් පවත්වනු ලබන පාඨමාලා විභාග පැවැත්වීම සඳහා යොදා ගැනේ.

මානව ශාස්ත්‍ර හා සමාජීය විද්‍යා පීඨයේ ඩිජිටල් ඉගෙනුම් අවකාශය අපගේ LMS පද්ධතියි. පීඨයේ සෑම නවක විද්‍යාර්ථයකු හට (2022/2023 අධ්‍යයන වර්ෂය) 2024 ජනවාරි 22 වන දිනට පසුව ඔවුන්ගේ LMS පරිශීලක නාමය සහ මුරපදය ලැබෙනු ඇත.
