Anjana Nawarathne, a brilliant student of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, has successfully represented Sri Lanka at the World Youth Forum 2026 held in Porto, Portugal.

​The unique significance of this achievement is that he was the only undergraduate selected from the entire Sri Lankan university system to represent the nation’s youth at this global summit.

​He had the opportunity to present his innovative research ideas to the global youth community regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence for sustainable e-waste management.
