Message of Department Head
Information Technology has totally changed the complexion of the quality of life today, with so much of innovative research and development projects impacting everyday life. The scale of the achievement comes from the ability to integrate computer technology with communication technology. Since information essentially shapes an organization, the student learns the effects of managing this information, both theoretically and practically. Our IT department employs modern teaching aids and methodologies helping the students to keep abreast of the latest trends worldwide with updated infrastructure in tune with emerging technologies and future requirements.

Landing an internship at Bhasha Lanka Pvt (Ltd) was a milestone in my career, made possible by the skills and training I received through the degree program. During my time as a UI/UX Engineer, I gained valuable industry experience, and I was later nominated for the position of Associate UI/UX Engineer.
The strong foundation I built through the department’s coursework enabled me to excel during my internship at Echonlabs. This internship helped me learn important skills for my future job, providing real-world experience and connections that boosted my confidence and career goals.
My internship at the National Institute of Social Development was an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to practical projects. The experience gave me industrial exposure, improved my teamwork skills, and motivated me to develop new technical knowledge.
MyPOS Software Solutions benefited from the skills I developed during my studies with the department. During the internship, I worked on real-world projects that enhanced my software development skills.
The robust and industry-relevant education I received from the department helped me succeed at Allianz Insurance Lanka. Through this internship, I gained a solid understanding of QA responsibilities and learned how to adapt to a professional environment, which was crucial for my first job experience.
