On 2nd February 2024, the Department of Economics hosted an on-site seminar in collaboration with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. This engaging session was exclusively tailored for the undergraduates enrolled in BA Honours in Financial Economics degree program at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The seminar explored the financial system of Sri Lanka and provided invaluable insights into the recent economic developments shaping our nation’s financial landscape. The resource person for the session was Mr. Shakthi Rajakaruna, an economist from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Through insightful discussions and comprehensive analysis, attendees gained a holistic understanding of the dynamics driving Sri Lanka’s financial ecosystem and the implications of recent economic trends.
