The Department annually offers a special prize and an award to honor academic excellence of the students at the convocation.

Professor Nandasena Ratnapala Prize for the student who passed
the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Criminology and
Criminal Justice with a First or Second Class (Upper) Division
and the highest Grade Point Average
