Guest Lecture on Sexual Health

A guest lecture on Sexual Health was conducted in parallel with the Anthropology of the Human Body course unit for third-year undergraduate students of the Department of Anthropology on 03rd and 11th of September 2026. Dr. Shantha Hettiarachchi, former Chief Medical Officer of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, served as the resource person for this session.
Drawing on his extensive professional knowledge and experience, Dr. Hettiarachchi provided students with valuable insights into sexual health and related issues. The lecture enhanced students’ awareness and understanding of sexual health from both medical and practical perspectives.
The session was particularly beneficial to the students, providing them with essential knowledge that will contribute to their personal well-being, responsible decision-making and future lives. It also complemented their academic learning by connecting theoretical concepts in anthropology with practical aspects of human health and well-being.
