Green Hub

The Green HUB is an institutional body established for ensuring a clean, green and innovative teaching and learning environment of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and thereby emphasizing Eco-sustainable environment at present and future. The initiative steps for establishing the “Green HUB” has been taken as per the concept of the dean of the faculty and it is a first ever attempt taken by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to start a such institutional body within the university premises.

 Mission Statement

Our mission is to commit for inspiring and emerging solutions to support the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to achieve higher level of Eco-friendly sustainable environment.

 Aim

The aim of the Green HUB is to establish innovative teaching and learning process, making university students, academic staff and non-academic staff into nature loving group who work together as a team for ensuring eco sustainability in the university premises.

Accordingly, the Green HUB is responsible to establish appropriate eco-sustainable practices to create a greener academic environment that consists of the following properties,

  • Install a programmable or smart thermostat
  • Purchase energy efficient appliances
  • Reduce water heating expenses
  • Install energy efficient windows

Usually, the most effective way to improve indoor air quality is to eliminate individual sources of pollution or to reduce their emissions.

  • Improved Ventilation

Another approach to lower the concentration of indoor air pollutants in the building is to increase the amount of outdoor air coming indoors including natural ventilation through windows and doors.
