The concept of equality of opportunity has been drawing the attention of concerned individuals worldwide. It asserts that everyone should be able to, and should be given a chance to, compete on equal terms. Every individual should be given the freedom to express oneself and should be treated equally irrespective of all types of differences.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura launched the Equal Opportunities Cell (EOC) this year, 2020, with a view to providing a rich platform for the student body of the Faculty to initiate a discourse on the challenges of undergraduate life and how they manage to overcome those challenges and obstacles in their journey towards success.
In this task the EOC works towards enhancing the participation of the entire undergraduate population of the Faculty in all its mainstream activities in addition to their academic pursuits.
