Junior Academic Mentor Awareness Session

An awareness session was conducted for the selected Junior Academic Mentors of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on 19th August 2026 at Wimaladhamma Mansion. The session was organized by the Deputy Proctors of the Faculty in collaboration with the Student Support Center.
During the session, the students were introduced to the academic mentoring procedures and their responsibilities in supporting first-year students. Ms. Hansani Karunarathna, Counsellor of the Student Support Center, explained the services provided by the Center and encouraged the Junior Academic Mentors to communicate information about these services to first-year students.
The main aim of the program was to create a friendly and supportive academic environment for first-year students, while developing the leadership qualities of the Junior Academic Mentors and promoting a harmonious educational culture within the Faculty.
