Academic Collaboration Strengthened Through Dr. Inayat Ali’s Visit Under Pakistan–Sri Lanka Faculty Exchange Program
The Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura proudly hosted Dr. Inayat Ali, Assistant Professor at the Department of Anthropology and Inaugural In charge of the Department of Public Health & Allied Sciences (DPH&AS), Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, for an academic visit from 22nd April to 4th May 2025. His visit was made possible through the Provisional Award of the Pak–Sri Lanka Faculty Exchange Program. During his stay, Dr. Ali conducted a series of impactful workshops and guest lectures focused on research methodology, academic writing, and scholarly publishing. These sessions greatly benefited undergraduate students, departmental research assistants, and academic staff from across the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, significantly enhancing the faculty’s research culture and academic writing capacity. Dr. Ali also actively participated in multiple field visits alongside students from the Department of Anthropology, offering valuable field-based learning experience both to the students and himself. A key highlight of his visit was the series of collaborative discussions that laid a strong foundation for future interdisciplinary research initiatives, particularly in the field of Medical Anthropology. These conversations identified shared academic interests and opened avenues for sustained institutional partnerships. The Department of Anthropology extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Inayat Ali for his exceptional contributions. His visit has not only strengthened academic ties between the two institutions but also inspired future scholarly collaboration.
