Guest Lecture on Sexual Health Held at the Department of Anthropology
The Department of Anthropology organized an insightful guest lecture on Sexual Health on 30th July 2025. The session was delivered by Dr. Shantha Hettiarachchi, former Medical Officer of the University, who brought a wealth of experience and practical knowledge to the discussion. The lecture addressed several key aspects of sexual health that are particularly relevant to young undergraduates, including reproductive health, sexually transmitted diseases, family planning, infertility, abortion, and menopause. Dr. Hettiarachchi emphasized the importance of awareness and responsible decision making in maintaining overall well-being. Students actively participated in the session, raising questions and engaging in meaningful discussions. Such programs are crucial in equipping students with accurate scientific knowledge and dispelling common misconceptions about sexual and reproductive health.
