Overview

The  Quality Assurance Cell (QAC) of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has been established in compliance with the quality assurance system established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka. This was established to ensure that the quality and standards of the academic programmes offered by the Faculty are maintained in order to meet the changing demands and challenges of higher education. The QAC functions as a member of the  Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.  Its functions are guided by the Vision and Mission of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The primary aim of the QAC is to promote, maintain, monitor and ensure effective learning environments while conforming to the guidelines provided by the Sri Lanka Qualification Framework (SLQF) and relevant Subject Benchmarks.

The QAC is headed by the Dean of the Faculty and consists of a Coordinator, a Deputy Coordinator and representatives from the respective degree programmes offered by the Faculty. In keeping with its aims and objectives, the QAC guides the departments by facilitating workshops, seminars, and trainings enabling sustainable enhancements in the degree programmes offered by the Faculty.
