About

The Cultural Committee of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences consists of five main sub committees. Each of the subcommittees aims to make notable contributions throughout the year to enhance the creative and aesthetic skills and work towards preserving cultural heritage in Sri Lanka by hosting and assisting activities in areas of performance, productions, publications, awareness programmes and other activities.

Mission

The Cultural Committee of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is committed to provide a stable platform to enhance the cultural and aesthetic values of the faculty community, while demonstrating artistic talents and promoting cultural harmony.

Objectives

  • Ensuring collective harmony by facilitating all cultural events of the faculty and other intellectual divertissements to enrich the faculty with cultural values.
  • Providing the platform for the faculty community to demonstrate their aesthetic talents through creative activities and literary publications.
  • Organizing competitions which can enhance the artistic skills and cultural values of the faculty community and provide adequate opportunities to demonstrate artistic skills.
  • Preserving and promoting the cultural and national heritage of Sri Lanka, thereby enhancing the faculty awareness of cultural values and norms.
