This research was conducted by the third year Anthropology special students in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. The study was aimed to provide practical knowledge to the students under the course of Social and Cultural Change which was in-charged by Dr. Sepala Samarasekara. In this field research under the guidance of Dr. Samarasekara, students got an opportunity to identify the factors effected to the social and cultural changes towards the fishing community living in the Puttalam area.
