The Center for Gender Equity and Equality established under the Equal Opportunity Cell of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura is pleased to house the “Pumithiri” Refereed e-journal of Gender Studies [‘පුමිතිරි’- ස්ත්රී-පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය පිළිබඳ විමර්ශිත විද්්යුත් සඟරාව]. The first issue of the journal was published in 2022, commemorating the International Women’s Day on 08th March 2022. Currently the “Pumithiri” publishes as a biannual journal. Second issue will be published in the international men’s day on 19th of November.
The “Pumithiri” e-journal of Gender Studies is a journal addressing academics and the general readership at the same time. Its main goals are to explore literature, language, culture and society from the perspective of gender practices and relations.
The journal welcomes original research in English and Sinhala media in the following areas related to Gender: literature, linguistics, discourse studies, cultural studies, history and education.
