It has been a primary goal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to address the needs of the current trends of employability in the world of work. The faculty hence carried out an initial discussion with the HCL Technologies on the 24th February 2022 at the Faculty Board Room to discuss prospective opportunities of collaboration that would benefit the faculty undergraduates who seek internships in the corporate world. The discussion was facilitated by the senior lecturer, Dr. Shantha Gamlath under the guidance of Professor Shirantha Heenkenda, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
During the discussion, the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding was highlighted upon the submission of a proposal by the HCL Technologies. Two officials representing the HCL technologies participated in the discussion while Professor Shirantha Heenkenda, Professor B.W.R. Damayanthi; the director of the Centre for Digital Education and Professional Development, and Dr. Shantha Gamlath represented the faculty.
