 GENERAL WRITING PRINCIPLES

  1. Papers submitted for full paper publication must represent original research that has not been previously presented, published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. Papers should be submitted to https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JTC9ozfDF5GHjyuhQZdKwWLSx2lhIiBe in Word format

  3. Rename the document with the abstract ID number

  4. The paper should contain the following information.
    a. Abstract
    b. Introduction
    c. Theoretical Framework
    d. Methodology
    e. Findings
    f. Discussion and Conclusion
    g. References

  5. Papers are allowed to be written in both Sinhala and English Languages
    a. Fonts: FM Abhaya, Times New Roman

  6. The length of the paper should not exceed 6000 words and 20 pages, including the references and appendices and tables.

  7. The paper must be formatted in 12-point font, with single line spacing, justified alignment and 5 cm margins on all four sides. Ensure the page size is set to A4 in (MS Word by navigating to Page Layout → Page Setup → Paper → A4).

  8. The title of the paper should be written in capital letters (excluding connectors), in 14-point font, bold and center aligned.

  9. All first-level subheadings in the paper (e.g., Introduction, Theoretical Framework, Methodology, Findings, Discussion and Conclusion, References) should be in capital letters, 12-point font, bold and left aligned.

  10. Do not add “Section Breaks” (Layout-Breaks-Section Break-Next Page, Odd Page, Even Page) anywhere in the text.

  11. All drawings, maps, graphics and photographs included in the text should be labeled as “Figure”, while tables and similar visuals should be labeled as “Table.” Both tables and figures must be centered within the text area. Table captions should appear above the table and figure captions should appear below the respective figures.

REFERENCING STYLE

Please note that Sinhala language research papers should follow the Harvard referencing style, while English language research papers should follow the Oxford referencing style.
