The Department of History and Archaeology of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer (Contract).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lecturer (Contract) in Archaeology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants should possess a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Archaeology from a recognized university, preferably with a First Class or Second-Class Upper Division. The department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the following subject units: Archaeological Exploration, Archaeological Excavations, Archaeological Conservation, Maritime Archaeology, Post Excavation Analysis, Archaeological Reporting and Report Writing, Museology and Knowledge of the Use and Handling of Archaeological Equipment in the Field.<\/strong> Candidates must also have at least two years of teaching experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection Procedure:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Selection procedure will be based on academic qualifications and an interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in International Relations, North Indian Socio-Economic and Political Environment, Prehistoric, Protohistoric and Historical Period, Copying Historical Inscriptions and the Use of Related Equipment.<\/strong> Candidates must also have at least two years of teaching experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
