PROGRAMME
The Inaugural of the Inter Faculty Debating Championship 2016 is now open for all the students from each faculty in the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The teams should represent their faculties or the departments. A team comprising of 5 members additional of a reserve is permitted and limited to one individual. Five members can compete and if a replacement is required the reserve will be allowed to participate. The team members should be from the same department, failure of which the team will not be allowed to participate in the championship.
The wining team will be awarded with “VIDUDAYA DEBATERS” cup which will be given for the best debaters, Gold Medals, certificates signed by the Vice Chancellor, Dean of Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Chairman & Secretary of the Soft Skills Development Unit.
The 1st & 2nd runners will be awarded with silver and bronze medals, certificates signed by the Vice Chancellor, Dean of Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Chairman & Secretary of the Soft Skills Development Unit.
OBJECTIVES
A series of debate competition will be organized by the Soft Skills Development Unit in order to develop the soft skills of the students in our University. The debate competition will be an ideal equipment to enhance the enthusiasm of the students about the soft skills.
OUTCOMES
Give an effective propaganda about the Soft Skills Development Unit
Students will perform their maximum effort to collect information about the subject
Provision of a national platform for the undergraduates in the university.
Stimulation of a personal development through practical implementation of knowledge.
Provision of an exposure in and among the university presence.
Create a successful network between undergraduates in the university.
Enhancement of interfaculty fraternity.
Key information
All the topics are related to the soft skills and it will have given by the soft skills development committee.
All the participants will award a certificate at the end of the program.
This is only a structure of the program and the further decisions will be taken at the meeting of the committee.

Students who have already passed out from the university will not be eligible for the championship.
