Orientation Programme for the New Batch (2017/2018) of the Environmental and Development Studies (B.SCc. General) offered by the Department of Geography in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was taken place with the participation of Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dr. D. P. S. Chandrakumara, Dean Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. E. Dayaratne, Director, External Degrees and Extension Course Unit, Prof. Sunethra Thennakoon, Head of the Department of Geography together with the academic staff of the Department and the coordinators of the External Degrees and Extension Course Unit. Orientation programme was held on 11th August 2017 at Sumangala Reading Hall.
