The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences reached another breakthrough moment with the opening of the Sri Sumangala Auditorium and the Entrepreneurial Theatre on 17th February 2022 at the auspicious time of 8.30 AM. This event was graced by Prof. Sudantha Liyanage; the vice chancellor of the university of Sri Jayewardenepura, Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda; the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mr. Anura Dissanayake; Secretary to the Prime Minister and several other distinguish guests and academia.
With financial aid from the faculty development fund and the AHEAD grant, the refurbishment project came to a successful conclusion resulting in a brand new addition to the facilities provided by the faculty. Coordination of the AHEAD grant was done by Prof. Sunethra Thennakoon of the Department of Geography, FHSS under the guidance provided by Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda Dean of the FHSS.
