At the 100 years anniversary celebration ceremony held on 21st December 2019 at the BMICH, Dr. Praneeth Abhayasundere, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and former chairmen of the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress of Sri Lanka was awarded “Shasana Sanathana Shathakaabhimana (ශාසන සනාථන ශතකඅභිමාන) special honorary award for his contribution to the betterment of the Buddha Sasana.
The anniversary celebration ceremony was graced by Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Higher Education and Innovations Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Foreign Relations Dinesh Gunawardena, and a large number of distinguished guests representing the world Buddhist community.
