USJ Received a Certificate of Appreciation as a ESPD Member Organization from JICA

A project launched jointly for the promoting Employment Support for Persons with Disabilities (ESPD) by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Department of Social Services from 2021 to 2025. The Initial discussion was held on 13th October 2022 with Mr. Takashi Shimizu, Mr. Dhammika Wasalabandara and other ESPD project members at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. They have accepted USJ as a ESPD member company and awarded a Certificate of Appreciation at the Awarding Event which was held on 25th February, 2023 at the Kingsbury Hotel. Four differently abled graduates received job opportunities at the leading private companies. Mr. Yamada Tetsuya, Chief Representation, JICA Sri Lanka office were the chief guest of the event. Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda, Dean/ Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Nelum Kanthilatha, Secretary, Equal Opportunity Cell/ FHSS and Mr. Kusun Nayanajith, Instructor/ Differently abled student center were invited to the occasion. We wish all the best for differently abled graduates of FHSS who received jobs today, for a happy and successful future.
