Entry Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and a selection interview. Preference will be given to the graduate employees of the Police, Prisons, Excise, Armed Forces, Judicial Service and in other related fields.
Course requirements:
Candidates are required to complete the following 8 course units:
DCC 101 – Theories.and Concepts of Criminology and Criminal Justice,
DOC 102 – Research Methods in Criminology and Criminal Justice (Qualitative & Quantitative),
DCC 103 – Crime Prevention and Crime Control (The Role of the Police and the Prisons),
DCC 104 – Criminal Law and Human Rights,
DCC 105 – Counseling and Conflict Resolution,
DCC 106 – Buddhist Jurisprudence (The Theme of Crime and Punishment) and Forensic Science and Forensic Medicine Submission of an Independent Project Report not exceeding 10,000 words.
DCC 107 – Geographic Information System and Crime in Sri Lanka
DCC 108 – Human Resource Management for Justice Administration
